Had errors 33 and 73 on airbag system. After pulling off dash found the dummy resistor open circuit so replaced it with 2.2 ohm resistor as advised in various messages. However cannot reset the stored errors by taking pin 4 of top row to earth at any time or as suggested somewhere shorting pin 4 row 1 to pin 1 row 2. Is there any other method of resetting or do I need to replace the diagnostic monitor? What does it look like and where is it situated?

Have you read the tech doc on the SRS? If not, here is the link.
{DESCRIPTION} I had to keep clearing various codes off my EF for about a week when I first got her, so it may be a case of having to clear them one at a time.

RTA rules apparently require no airbag codes to be present. I followed the procedure in the Airbag writeup but they didn't work, hence the search for another way.

if the airbag light is on it shouldnt be registered because obviously theres a problem with the system, i had to reset about 4 or 5 codes off mine and it turned out there was no problem with the system it has never thrown the light up again,

Fix it properly - then you have peace of mind that it might save you injury in a collision.
Read the Airbag sticky in the interior forum. To reset codes, all the faults need to be fixed first. The system should beep if there's no bulb or it's blown - so don't waste your time pulling the cluster to do this.
