Can someone confirm wether this can be done rather easily. Not so much wiring or anything just actual fitment. Im asking this as ive just seen an XF with a ea dash in it and i figure if you can get an EA dash in an XF and you possibly could put an EF dash in an EA then i could put an EL dash in my XH :)

Yes an EF Dash will go into a EA.

Do a search.

Yeah, EF into EA - ED has been done by a few people:
http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... 0&start=0m .

EF into XH is still ?????
Airboxes are the same bar the air outlet ducting - it all depends on the lower windscreen shape, whether the old XD firewall is compatible.
I don't think the EF dash will fit in the far left and right corners, due to the different A pillars.

Then there's the handbrake relocation as well . . . .

I did consider it a while ago, but since I've now fitted an EF trip computer and the EF/EL cupholders, the idea doesn't really interest me any longer.

But this is Fordmods - never say never . . . . 8-)

yeah i thought about it ages ago then gave up thinking nah stuff it but now im thinking about it again seens ive gotta pull my whole dash out next year anyways. If you dont mind me asking where did you put your trip computer?
Handbrake doesnt worry me 2 much, there are a couple of options im thinking of there, such as the handbrake style the AU utes had next to the seat or try putting a standard sedan one in

Pics will be out in a few days re the trippy and cup holders (surprisingly, it wasn't a hard mod). A few of the guys have done the EF/EL handbrake into earlier models. A real big plus of an EF dash install would be to add Climate control - it will fit in an XH, but again there isn't any real place to put the CC dash unit. I think CC would work best in a ute due to the smaller cabin area.
