when removing the cluster needles, do they come straight off or something, do i have to lever them off, or unscrew them or what?

straight off. easiest using a fork or something to pry them off so you don't snap them :wink:

I've found this method works well, just put a couple of thin strips of masking tape on the underside of the individual forks and use the fork ends under the needle will pry it straight up and not mark the dial face.
