if when running the diagnostic's on the climate control module, you recieve an E2 error, this shows that the blend door motor is broken.
the following is a proceedure on how to replace it.

Disconnect battery

Remove console. You'll need to remove t-bar handle and nut, then the t-bar indicator panel and window switch assy, and retaining screws. 2 screws in console bin, one under where t-bar indicator panel was and I think 2 under the front thin trim. You may have to remove the instrument surround as well to access 2 screws that hold the console onto the dash. If it's got premiuim sound or a CD stacker, remove the stereo as well and disconnect the cables.

Remove top dash trim (2 screws - you'll need a tiny stumpy philips screwy or a right angle one to get those screws) disconnect sun load sensor and tweeter wiring connectors which you'll find under the top dash trim. Undo main earth strap as well (in centre - 8 or 10mm bolt I think)

Remove glove box and both kick panels

Undo all the bolts that hold the steering column toeplate against the firewall, then remove the two bolts holding the column in place and lower the column onto the floor (push drivers seat right back) don't worry about the air bag it won't pop. Be gentle with the column, when moving it around, the lower bearing is a bit of a fragile bugger.

Disconnect wiring on LH side behind glove box for heater fan (large brown 2 pin) and one or 2 others there as well. You'll see which ones to remove when you pull the dash back anyway. Disconnect aerial lead and power connector as well. Leave the ECU where it is, you won't need to remove/disconnect it.

Remove two bolts at either side of dash. Remove two bolts at centre bottom. Remove all five bolts at top of dash.

Put a blanket or thick towel over the LHF seat to prevent the dash edges damaging it. Lift the dash up and towards you (2 people doing this may be easier) and swing the LH side back and onto the seat, leaving the RH side closer to the firewall and resting on the steering column support plate. Disconnect any other wires that might stop you from lifting dash back, including the BDM (blend door motor). You won't need to disconnect anything on the RH side of course.

You'll see the BDM on top of the heater box, held in with rivets. Grab a flat blade screwdriver and gently tap with a hammer to prise away the rivets/BDM bracket from the box. Once removed, fit your new BDM with some chunky big self tappers and fit everything back in reverse order.
