I am contemplating doing an EF/EL dash conversion on my NC. I have searched the threads and have a good idea on how to fit the actual dash frame in, but my major worry is the electrical side of things such as the climate control.

Can the EF/EL climate control unit plug into the High Series ED spec wiring loom and still operate ok? ie: are the plugs the same?

How do I wire up things like: Variable Intermittent wiper speed (the knob you move up and down on the combination switch, speed alert (on the trip computer), Analogue Cluster (mines digital)...

Would it be easier if I put in an entire High Series EL Dash wiring loom, and then fit up all the electronics? Does the High Series EL Dash wiring loom fit into the NC easily?

My car is ED based and has the different fanspeed controller wiring to the EA-EBII's so I don't know if that helps me.

Thanks

yeah i'm interested, what have you got? things like switchs would be good to see if they work on the NC wiring loom.

the switchs would be good... To see if they work on my car. You got the power/econ switch?

I need to find out what electrical things need to be rewired before i start so that would be a big help

Taking out a dash + Playing with wiring looms = my worst nightmare.
Good luck to you, but I know I'll be sticking with the ED dash thanks!

lol yeah wheres the fun in that? I just wanna know what do with with the wiring and get me s**t together before I go in and start waving my spanner about!

Q: Is EF/EL climate control wiring different to ED climate control wiring or is it the same?

Has anyone even done this conversion? Upgrading to EF/EL electrics? Or am I alone here? :P

we have done EB to EL conversion

so basiclly it was a EL running gear with EB body
