Hi all
Will be doing a manual conversion on my EL this weekend. I'm using an EB gearbox and as a result don't have the interior trim parts from an EL. So I need to find a way to make it look neat I'm wondering if i can mod the trim panel piece from the auto by cutting out most of the plastic, and attaching a piece of leather. Kind of hard to explain with words but I think you'll all know what I mean. Has anyone else attempted to do this? Does anyone know if the factory parts are still available from Ford? If anyone else has done it differently feel free to post it... Thanks |

Just buy the GT manual boot about $40 from Ford thats all I did. take out the auto plate and it clips in.

Youcould use the boot from an XE/F - there is a steel retainer ring which you can put over the auto plate, then cutout to suit. Its rubber - and back then that was the nicest way.
Now though... Yeah good luck |

i've got the EB rubber boot and its ugly as. worst case i'll mod the auto plate to fit that but it won't be pretty. I think I could do better with a piece of leather and a spare nut (along with quite a bit of effort!)

FYI called ford and they haver ordered in a centre console boot for me - for $78 - ouch.
The small rubber one held on the top of the gearbox with a circlip was $37 also from Ford, and Motor Traders claimed they are obsolete... |
