hey all

looking at what i want to do in regards to my shifter handle. i've got an AU XR one at home, but it looks like its going to be too much effort to make it worth it for the handle. so, as i see it, my options are:

-2nd hand NF/NL one etc - looking at $165+ 2nd hand
-custom EF one - have been quoted $110 to get it leather wrapped
-imitation one - none available over here though

would also like a chrome button as well, to fit in with the rest of my interior. looking for thoughts/suggestions please!

cheers

Thats pretty cheap to get a normal one wrapped in leather, sounds like a pretty good idea

I'd get the NF/NL Fairlane chrome one that is plastic, then wrap that in leather..

Well all chrome buttons on all the ef/el shifters are plstic chromed - not real chrome otherwise they never break like mine did!
Its cappa leather.
$310 new, steep but its so worth it when i go to drive now and it looks, feels and works like new.

The one in the NL has gone for the second time - Now I will save all the bits and see if the button can be made from billet aluminium so it lasts.

i can sell you a new genuine chrome button for $125 ouch!!!
you just need to make a little hole in the shifter to get to the screw to get the old one out.

prolly not eh - after having pulled the EF one apart, it looks like too much effort for it to be worth it. i'd rather go a leather one if i can, so will see what the people i know can do for me...

If you have success with that project I think you could have a few interested buyers... Got my attention ;)
