How easily is this done? Just a straight swap, or some extensive mods need to be done?
Further more, when can I get some quality EF/EL door trims? Obviously a wrecker? I want Ghia trims but they are electric windows, and my EB is manual, that brings up another question... how is an electric window mod to do? Thanks.

As for electric window conversion, how's that? You need to get hold of the 4 power window motors (EA-EL are all the same), then you'll need the switches for the doors, and the console switches as well. After that you'll need all the wiring, easiest way i think is to transfer the whole body loom over - to do so though you have to remove seats and carpet. |

Link?
electric windows mechanisms are 4 bolts and 3 (cant think of the word F**k) you gotta drill em out anyways. Get the switches and loom and run 2 wires for power/earth and your done. |

How big are the switches? Reason being, I don't have a center console to put them, so I want to implement them somehow into the dash somewhere.
Also, how much could I get a kit for roughly?

have a read of the doco in the technical documents section (look up the very top) to find all the info you'll need on power window conversion
pretty sure it is in the EF/EL section. |

I'll ditch the electric window conversion.
Can I get the woodgrain door inserts from the Ghia though?

Well the front door trims are easy the ghia trims have a punch out on the back so you can just make the hole for the manual window winder in them.
The rear door trims may be a bit harder well they are on EA-ED because the up market models moved the ashtray up so that it would foul a manual window winder but I don't think that EF-EL's had rear ashtrays. Just have a look at some door trims out of an EF/EL Fairmont & see if anything is in the way of your winders. You would also have to cut holes in the top of your rear trims for the lock snipper buttons or do away with the buttons on your doors. |

Thanks for the replies.
I picked up a set of EF trims. I think they're from a futura, they were in good nick. The fronts are electric. Now, I was thinking of just punching a hole through for the winder, but the arm rest is in the way and I can already see it fouling on that. Also, the rears don't have door locks. Would I just be better off cutting a hole in the trims, or just cutting the door locks off the actual car (keeping in mind that I'd rather the latter, because it looks clean without door locks, and I don't use them). One more. The electric mirror switch is on the door trim itself, are the plug connectors exactly the same, or what would have to be done? Thanks for all the replies.

Yes, they will go into an EA no dramas. The E series all have the same doors.
