i still have the old unit, but it was changed because the buttons, some of them, needed to be pushed to china to get the things to work properly, I dont know if ya can clean up the contact points or not, but replacing the old one at this stage is not an option unless the buttons can be fixed........

Was meaning temporarily to see if the problems go away. Not to swap back over and leave it.
And yes, the contacts can be cleaned, providing the carbon hasn't fully worn away from the back of the buttons. But you will need to pull the unit apart for this. An easy 5 minute job. Do you have a multimetre at all? |

yep, have the multimeter, but only know basic usage, like checking continuarity......just the basic stuff................

When I get home and get a look at my wiring diagrams, I'll post up some wiring colours to check voltages on. This will tell us whats going on.
