dats right...
but i am in the process of reconditioning the leather, and I am curious to see how much work I gotta do still... Also I was wondering if their was a difference between the Fairmont Ghia leather and the Fairlane Ghia Leather... I have seen alot of loose leather, and my is kinda tight....

The leather is the same between the Fairlane and Fairmont, (2 colours, grey or tan) The EFII and EL are different styles though. The EF had leather seats with Velour inserts, or Full leather seats in the series II. Series II just replaced the inserts with full leather leaving a different looking style thhan the EL. EL are full leather with less seams. Whether its "tight" or "runched" depends on how well its been looked after |

What happened in the second one? It is. The bottom one is from an owners car, (the photo aint so good, sorry) But I can confirm, having owned an EL ghia, (in Cappa no less) that the photo is a good representation of what the EL leather looks like. |

Bottom pic looks like my leather, mine a little bit tighter, but much the same, wear and tear my man. Especially you got a big fat person sitting in there.

So that amount of 'bagginess' (EFII pic) in the leather is normal?

The velour inserts I've seen on all EFs and ELs are the same bagginess as well. They are either designed like that, (like the recent Calais, where the "runched" leather is part of the design... including the leather door inserts) or its poor quality leather and stitching. I seem to recall going for a test drive in a very early (94) EF Ghia that had full luna mist leather with no inserts, that wasn't rumply, but can't be sure. |
