Hi,

can anyone suggest to me why our heater in our EF Fairmont isn't working?

Being a fairmont, it runs the electronic temperature control unit.

Despite setting the interior temperture to 30 degrees, the is absolutely no warm air blowing out of the ducts.

Other than this, the electronic temperature control unit is performing as per normal.

So how should i go about solving this problem ??

Heater tap may be stuffed and not opening properly.
Vacuum line to heater tap would make no differance as vacuum is only required to close it, ie cooling.
Heater core may be blocked.
Thermostat may be too cold.
Blend door needs calibration.

Check this Doco http://www.fordmods.com/phpBB2/documents.php?doc=9

It will help with diagnosing your problem and also re-calibrates the blend door.

Hey mate,

I had the same problem with my EL fairmont. What worked for me was to reset the whole climate controll. To do this you will need to check with the manual on how to do it. I dont have it near me but I can try find it for you if you have no luck. After reseting it I just put it up to 30 degrees and turned off the a/c (by pressing the a/c button) and it worked. See how you go.

Tommy!

Edit: The car needs to warm up for the heating to work (im sure you know that)...the manual even says it
