Heya,

Ive got a set of White/Orange dials tucked away waiting to install in my Falc, but im stuck trying to find a set of Orange needles.

My needles now are white, so its kinda pointless putting them on, cause I wont see them.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of Orange needles, Ford dont sell them individually.

Alternativley, will the AU red style needles suit a EF Dash?

Im not too keen on painting mine, Ive heard the paint will alter weights and change calibration.

Id like to make the needles light up orange, but im not sure how to do it.

If anyone can help with any of the problems, let me know huh!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, someone should do it. If it can be done that is. Or atleast photoshop them in.

Normally I'd say you'd need to source the whole cluster, and getting it cheap enough. I suppose if all fails, try these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 4556678987 .

Hey, BTW, noticed that the guy is also selling the blackened headlights.. They look like Gen Ford too, not the usual Taiwonky ones. Has anyone fitted these? Pics would be nice.

Cheers

BTW, sorry for not posting in the right area, I guess I like headlights on the inside of cars, not outside.

do it yourself mate, lightly sand the orange off the EL needles, or if you got EF ones, dont worry, just paint them red with 1 coat of hobby paint :) saves ya some $$$

Too late....

Ill post some pics of the finished prouct if you like, I only have a stock cluster at the moment, but apparantley the white dials will fit on both of the dashes.

When I buy a Full Spec dash cluster ill just change it over.

At least this gives me an excuse to pull the dash out again, Im column change (GASP) and when I re installed the standard dash I put the power/economy and demister switch round the wrong way, so they are now sitting wrong. Cant take it any more...

Perhaps I should lay off the coffee??

Do you realise that the needles you have just purchase are white needles which have been re-painted red??????????

Yes that's right. I emailed them today and they said they were original Ford white needles which they have painted red. Just thought you may want to know.

So you have just paid $45 for the same needles you have, when you could have painted them yourself for $3!!!!!!!!!

Pays not to assume!!

I thought they were the Gen Ford Red needles seen on XR's and Fairlanes.

Nevertheless, I still have what I wanted, and if you know me when it comes to fiddly painting bits which need to be precise, its probably better that I paid for them.

Gee's if I'd known that you could have paid me $45 to paint them for you. Also another side note, is that these needles are red, and not orange like the genuine Ford needles found on the EL etc.

I don't know how these will light up at night, if at all because I have been doing a lot of fiddling around with the exact problem you have. white needles, white faced dials, and let me tell you, you have the get the colour just right otherwise your needles will not light up very bright at all.

Good luck, and if you get a chance keeps us up to date, and some pics would be good.

Cheers
