Owner of mid series EF Futura Situated in Adelaide SA oh yeah and an old f@rt to boot so be gentle with me i'm so fragile Can anyone please tell me how to access the right hand instrument cluster plug, so that I can complete the necessary wiring for the EF/EL trip computer modification. Does the instrument cluster need removing if so ...where the heck are the screws/bolts hiding ?? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated Scanner Last edited by scanner on Thu Jan 21, 2010 12:46 am, edited 1 time in total. |

Hi Scanner and welcome to Fordmods
1st, Have good look around, it is not too hard to find them. You do have to remove the Stereo Surround first, then there is a couple in there, one either side of the steering column and three along the top edge of the instrument cluster. The cluster itself is held in by 4 screws, 2 either side. 2nd, go and buy a Gregorys, Haines or Ellerys workshop manual as this sort of info is detailed clearly. Cheers BenJ

So basically the only way I can access the RH cluster plug is to remove the whole dash assembly

Nah bud, you only need to remove the stereo surround , 2 screws, then the outer fascia. Its pretty quick and simple as BenJ described. The outer dash piece comes off and you can then access the cluster, which you can unscrew and wiggle out.
Also, it helps to lower and extend the steering column as far as possible. |
