The document in Technical Documents seems to be for cars that have the Trip Control pins/wires already installed (Fairmonts, Fairlanes, etc.)

Anyone can do one for an EF GLi which covers adding the extra 3 wires required + installing the Trip Computer Module?

All EF's have the plug there - GLi's and Futura's just need the 3 extra wires run. I installed mine following that doco...

Sorry to hijack thread, but on that note, does the dash have to be removed to gain access to the plug needed?

nope, just remove the plastic panel where the trip computer sits in, pull the cluster out and it's pretty much in front of you.

the dash only comes out when you run your extra wires!

i think you can buy the terminals but im not entirely sure where.
if not you'll have to grab a fairmont trip computer plug.

I, too, have a FUTURA which I want to put the TRIP COMPUTER into. I have a FAIRMONT (which is the donor vehicle for all my misguided attempts at modifying...)

I am just going to hop in Fairmont and see if I can figure what the hell
---Line runs from Pin 1. of the Clock/Trip Computer Plug to Pin 14. of the Right Hand Side Instrument Cluster Connector.---
means... WHERE DO I FIND THE "RIGHT HAND SIDE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONNECTOR" in the first damn place? And maybe I could just rip all the wires out of the MONT and insert into the COON?

Whatever. Suppose I'll just go start choppity chop chopping.

I did the choppity chop chop thing and was pleasantly surprised at the easiness encountered (other than getting the damn pin 14 to get into the bloody plug!)... All good, no worries at all... Trip computer is now working sweet... Would suggest to anyone attempting this mod to just remove instrument cluster (four screws, easy!) and have a decent poke around for their own future referance.
