Firstly the interior light wont go off, i have checked the light out buttons when doors are closed and they all seem fine, also checked the interior light button on the headlight switch and it doesnt help. ??????

also the odometer reading lights up when the ignition key is inserted and turned but then goes out when the headlights are switched on???????

The hole headlight switch could be faulty, maybe has corrosion in the terminals. I'd try another of those first.

tried fitting another headlight switch and it made no difference, the dimmer function works on both switches. thanks for the suggestion though.

You may have a short circuit in the earth side of your interior lights.Have you fitted a stereo recently?Check your door switches and the wiring going to them.Behind your rh kick panel are a couple of plugs ,try disconnecting them and see what happens.Cheers Kevman and try disconnecting your ecu

Im having the same thing happen, odo stays on with auto headlights,
but turns off when i turn the headlights on via the switch.
Did fit a trip comp recently though, but thats pretty straight forward.
rechecked all wiring,
100% sure i didnt leave anything unplugged
