The knob is too dear to buy NEW but I am sure that you would be able to obtain one from a Wrecker.
You can buy a rod to suit this so as to not have to modify one, it is from an XH ute part number
EH 7E330A $5.00. The Handle (knob) EL 7E261C1 $170.00.

This is a how to do it page documents.php?d=96

But, like I said, if you go to your Friendly Ford dealer and have them get the rod I gave the part number for you won't have to make a rod. :)

Something else that you need to know about this conversion is that the EF/EL knob has a white plastic piece inside it where the rod goes, Remove it as it won't work with it still in there (It didn't work with it when I did my conversion - I used the existing EA-ED rod and extended it and it works beautifully).

i put the whole nl chrome shaft in, just undo 1 nut swap them over and do it up again, no need to stuff around with rods. the ef el nf nl shaft is slightly shorter too and looks way better then having it on a eb shaft

the Manual knob for EF (Black) is about $15 from ford new... well that was a few years ago but should still be the same. Papa Smurf should be able to confirm.

I have an ef gear stick so the thread shouldn't be an issue. From memory the base of the ef knob looks chunkier than the eb. Papa smurf can you confirm pricing? I notice troyman has a similiar thread going too regarding ef and au knobs. Will keep close eye on that one!!

I just did a search in car sales for piks of gear knobs and ef au and ba looked the same from what I could see. Anyway I think I'll just get a black standard ba one for now. I'll get the latest one just to be safe!

Yeah I didn't want an xr one because I really wanted all black to suit the rest of the interior. That looks awesome on your car. How much was it? I ordered a standard BA one for $27. How short is your shifter! I really like that set up.
