After converting the dash in this EF, the steering wheel feels tigheter, like it is rubbing or catching on something.

How can it be adjusted so the steering feels lighter?

Check to see that no wiring is tangled within the steering coloum. Intermiedite shaft.

I think it could be the nuts that bolt the dash and steering column together. Lowering the nuts could loosen up the steering shaft - may be catching on the firewall a little.

The rubber seal may also be pinching - could explain extra engine noise in the cabin after dash conversion.
