Hi all,

I've just picked up an EL Trip computer (with plug & loom) to fit into my EF.

I've seen the doc on the site, but still looks a bit daunting to me (well, the removing the dash part anyway).

Would anyone in Perth, or from the recent WA cruise be interested in giving me a hand to fit it?

Name your price ...in cash or cartons!

...within reason, of course!

Cheers!

When do you want to get it done?

I'm getting plugs & leads etc. changed on THURS.

Trip Computer probably won't arrive 'til WED or THURS, so FRI onwards would be great ...possibly the weekend?

Don't want to intrude on your hols, though ...so whenever's best for you!

Cheers.

I've had a further look at the docco for this ...and think I should be able to do it myself.

I actually think I will be getting the appropriate Trip Computer plug, with the 3 additional wires already connected ...I hope!

In that case, my only question is ...how will I connect the instrument data line from the Trip Computer to the pin on the instrument cluster connector?

What I mean is, will I have to use a particular plug on the end of this wire to insert it into Pin 14 of the connector?

Or can I just pull the pin out of the connector, and then connect the wire?

Or can I just somehow jam it in there ...or solder it in?

How did you do this Benn? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!!!

Otherwise, it looks reasonably straight forward.

Hi Dave,

I actually bought my shift kit from shiftkits.com.au, here's the link:

http://www.shiftkits.com.au/ShiftKitsFord.aspx

I went for the fully adjustable option at the bottom of the page $115.00 ...OK, a bit more expensive than building your own, but still pretty good, bearing in mind most of the DIY kits are not conveniently adjustable with a knob like this one!

And the difference in gear response is great!

I installed mine without too much hassle at all ...and will be happy to help you do yours!

As for the Trip Computer, if I do receive mine before end of the week, I should have it installed this weekend!

Cheers

SAT morning would actually be better, as I have a band rehearsal at 11.30 am SUN ...but I could probably postpone my rehearsal 'til 12.00 or 1.00 pm!

Let me know.

It's not really urgent now mate ...as I may have a crack at it myself on SAT nite!
