hey guys. recently i installed my trip computer into the EF GLi. I had a little trouble but only tonight got the thing working. But then the LCD was very dimm. So i looked here and it told me the glob may be screwed so i went back the the car and swapped the globs around. Works a treat, just cant see the other thing light up. .
I decided ill see if i can put a LED in its place but when i look at the doco it doesnt say 3mm or 5mm so i just assume its 5mm. But going into d**k or jaycar (which ever i find first) and im going to get the Blues and slowly replace the dash cluster. Pics to come when ive got the LEDs in tomorrow night. Thanks for the docos.

went to d**k and tried to get an LED and when i asked for help they just replied we are closing now and i was told to leave. So i walked out and im going to jaycar when i can get down there.
ATM i got a green one so i may give it a go.

When I fitted a trip computer into my EBII S Pack falcon about 4 years ago I remember I had the same problem. It was the wire fed for the illumination. When you turn your headlights on it is designed to dim the trip computer/or clock. Can't remember exactly how I fixed it but it was something to do with that wire. I think I ended up just wiring it so it was bright all the time, even at night.
