hey guys....just a few questions...will a dash from a GLI ( possibly with passanger air bag ) fit into a 95 ef futura that dosnt have a passanger air bag? im going to replace my dash and im not sure if the mounting points are the same from different years...last question....the screrw rivit nut things that hold the ghia arm rests on the back doors from a ghia.....how would one replace them? what tools do i need ect...?

EF and EL dash's are exactly the same as far as mounting points go. Obviously you will need to use a different wiring loom and all the other necessary bits and pieces to get the additional airbag to function, but yes mounting points are the same.

If you're talking about the rivets in the rear doors that allow you to bolt the top part of the arm rest to the door, I stole some of the rivets out of a parts car and managed to press them into the holes of my doors using a bolt and nut and a bigger nut the same size as the hole and a washer over the surface of that nut. Tightened the bolt with the rivet on the end of it to pull it through and into the hole. Worked for me.

No, the mounting bolts all work but electrically there is some significant differences.
First the dash to body loom connectors one of the two large ones are different, the orange one from memory. The next is the tach signal is different between EL and EL. Can be done but a pain from experience better off sourcing the correct model.

if re using current wiring just go for it , may need to connect up the air bag on the passenger but who would bother ?

Its not like they go of in impacts anyway

Hi,

The Air-bags do go off. There is a resistor on the passenger side you take out to fit the Air-bag.
