G'day modders,

My problem is this.... When Im driving (above the stated 40kmph) and I try to engage the cruise function, I get nothing. I mean the cruise button illuminates the reading in the dash but when I actually attempt to set the coast function (set-), it just doesn't engage. The fella I bought it from rebuilt the motor not long ago, so am I looking at the problem being rooted in the cable not being reconnected to the TB? If not, any other suggestions would really be appreciated.
cheers

do your brake lights work?
is the clutch switch bridged?
try a different set of cruise buttons.
check the cruise cable is connected at both ends.

As above, and also check that the switch in the side of the brake master cylinder it plugged in.

Mine was doing something similar a few months ago. Intermittently it wouldn't engage during a period of wet weather, then stopped completely.

Do the cruise control diagnostic. It's a little over half way down this page:

documents.php?d=11

I went right through to the end of the diagnostic and it said to replace the Cruise Control Module.

I pulled the module apart and found corrosion on the terminals that connect when the two halves of the module are together. Cleaned up the terminals and now as good as new. I also put a little silicone around the rubber bit over the cruise cable so it seals better and greased the cable.
