Hey guys

contemplating putting EL engine/driveline/ecu/engine looms into an EBII..

Also considering doing the dash/climate/console into an EBII

If I had the 2 cars side by side and could take everything would it be a PITA to swap the dash and stuff given ALL the looms and junk would come along with it?

Is it too much trouble, am I dreaming?

no "buy an ef/el" comments thx!

waggin did the same w/ his EB from memory - if you've got both cars, and are swapping the lot i can't see why it wouldn't be pretty easy!

its not to hard at all, be done by plenty of people tricky bits are

the floor plan for seats and handbrake needs bit cut from EL and welded to the EB, the diff of course would also be swapped for the handbrake.

front end, either swap the steering rack etc or entire k-frames.

thats about it i think, maybe the tailight plugs changed as well.

Been there and done it mate, its not all quite plug and play, but its pretty damn close!

Obviously the boot looms aren't compatible, so you need to do some chopping to make it work. The steering column setup is different, you need to pull the coulumn apart in an effort to use the EF/EL top half and EA/ED bottom half.

converting the ABS system will be interesting, should be doable though. Also worth noting its probably not legal to run the airbag in the EB.

I personally wouldnt do it (again). Spend the time/money on getting a the full leather EBII Ghia interior for your car :)

Hmm I see fellas

Nah probably wouldnt worry about the airbag anyway!

Was considering EL XR wreck.. driveline etc and while at it hit it up for the dash and stuff.. dunno bout the EL dash is just so much more inviting :P

Naturally I dont have the cash laying around so its gonna be a bit of an effort to make it happen anyway! Just ideas at the moment anyway.

But seeing as its been done, making me wanna do it ;)
