Try clicking on this and checking out page 6 (or thereabouts)... It is BENJ's classic thread.... He didn't put 9 inch speakers in the front doors like I did tho..! Slack - As there are no big rear speakers in your UTE, I suggest putting 6x9" speakers in front doors (relatively simple if you have a nibbler and some patience - and use the EF or EL door linings.)

Sounds like you're thinking along the same lines as
someone who knows what they like and has a fair idea
of what they're doing.

Good for you.

Only thing --- If you make all your pictures about 6 or 700
wide it will stop all this need to scroll left and right to read the messages... Although, I am not sure how Internet Explorer handles displaying messages on this site - I use Firefox... And I have to scroll left and right to read the bloody messages. For instance, this line I am now typing on will not be visable to me until I scroll right.

Where as this paragraph will be. mainly becuase I push carraige return (enter)
after each line of typing...!

Whatever,

all good brother- I am going to put all my rantings and photos into one build
thread one day so as to make sense of it all myself!

Look forward to seeing your UTE speaker placement!

I've been building this car for about 2 years. The body looks terrible as I am leaving it till last. Just needs paint. I keep thinking of things to do to it so I want to get all the changes and mechanical parts working 100% before I throw some paint at it. Will get some pics up soon!

MATE - I know how you feel entirely. Am working on a big old build thread for my car now... And boy, what a bloody mess!...

PAINT would be great, in the meantime, maybe a personalised plate with "UGLY" on it would do?!

Good setup I'd say... If those speakers are anything like the 6x9's I have in my boot you wouldn't need a SUB with them sitting right on ya a*** like that!!!

Man, I have really got this "stuffing about with cars" bug bad! Looks like a bit of effort put in there too... Any luck with the pillars being the same as the ones out the EF or EL donor?

Good s**t man - That's real onto it. I'm going to make up something for the boot of my wagon one day once I've paid off a few things here and there and everywhere. Just going to use wood and coat it in paint I think!

A couple of drawers low down with a couple of spaces for buckets and containers to be put... And a big space for drop saws and the like.. Just like a ute hard top with a couple of rear seats and enough space for a 15" LCD DVD screen.

;)

i know this sounds dumb, but i havent the slightest clue.. the area behind the seats where that carpet covered box thingo is, does that do anything? or just hide the space? and could i chuck in a sub or two straight into that box???

Dude - nice photos of the metalwork... Sorts out what happened (and how come your 6x9's fit in) quite well. Now if only you could tell my mate Phil how easy it was to put the interior in... I've still got two EF Dash's sitting in my mates carport!

Ahhh Yes..the joys of auto electrics..
Good to see your still making good progress.
That main earth cable is a sneaky little bugger, learnt that the hard way myself.
But going to all that trouble you should also change to power windows, easy to do and solves the issue of the winder hitting the dash.
Use the factory switches on the el console.

mate, ive just put a different dash into another car, had both detailed manuals, and found some discrepancies in they're wire color identification aswell. I think its a problem they dont know is there as they dont use the manuals to make the cars, but arent informed as they are minute errors
