Hi all,

I need some advice from you guys. There is something wrong with my interior ventilation system.
When I set the Climate Control to cool it starts pumping air inside but it`s warm. I had the installation filled with gas about 1 month ago. What I noticed is the when I select just ventilation it works as it should but when I select warn or cold I starts to make a hissing sound, like a whose came of and the core can`t draw the cool/hot air.

So I decided to take the hole dash down but I won`t do it without some information. Can anyone please offer some advice or if you have some documentation.

Thanks.

make sure the vacume hose at the back of the A/C, fan unit is on correctly and you havnt got a leak.
to take dash of you have to take off the plastic cover ontop of the dash and undo i think 8 bolts, take of both kick pannals and undo the bolts 1 each side from memory, now the tricky part, where the radio sits there are 2 bolts on the bottom connecting the dash to the floor, they are a pain in the a** to get to. you will also have to drop the steering column and disconect all the wireing behind the dash ( there is a lot of it ) oh and uptop of the dash there is a little ground cable that has to be unbolted too..removing the dash isnt really a hard job just a pain in the a** and time consuming.
there is a doco on here some that explains better then i have :)

Wow... lot of info.
Thanks a lot.

Can it be from one little vacuum hose? I mean, come on...
I`ll check above the glovebox first and then, if it`s not fixed, I`ll use the doc and start making a mess. :)

Any other info is welcomed.

Thanks again.

Do a diagnostics on the CC unit if you haven't done so. The blend door motor might be stuck/broken.

Found this through google via AFF website

Quote:
i had the same problem, the air con box in the dash has a lid/flap that was broken but that was not the problem stopping warm air being made. it could be the climate control computer( the blue box where the controls are). if so a diagnostic can be run.
Press mode and off together on the climate control, and it should do a diagnostics check. If it has any errors, it will flash them up on the screen. Here are what they mean.

E1 Electronic Control Unit
E2 Blend Door Servo Motor
E3 Cabin Sensor
E4 Solar Sensor
E5 Ambient Sensor
E6 Evaporator Temperature Sensor
E7 Engine Temperature sensor
E8 (EF/EL/AU Only) - EEC V Communication Line Fault

Mind you, if the weather outside is around 30+ degrees and the car has been sitting in the sun, don't expect perfect cold air coming out until you put it under the shade for a while or drive for a while at speed.

Also a vacuum hose missing where it is meant to be can cause a lot of issues. All vents in the car with CC are controlled via vacuum, if there is a leak, it won't work properly or at all. So yes, a small vacuum hose can be an issue for certain things, although probably not your case.
