Hi guys, first post on here so take it easy on me haha anyways to the point,
i have an EL fairmont and the drivers window hasnt been working for ages since my dad had the car. on his way to work rolled down the drivers window and the auto down function didnt release, resulting in the down button being pressed the whole day until he noticed when he finished work. now i want to fix it as i cant drive without an opened window i work at autobarn and the guys tell me that the solenoid would have burnt out in the button chip rather than the regulator in the door burning out. ive taken the buttons out to have a look at it but i cant open her up. if anyone could shed some light on how these buggers open would be much appreciated. thanks, billy

hi, there are 7 tabs that hold the black surround on the circuit board. slip a small flat bladed screwdriver in under the black surround near the clips and give it a slight twist, the clip should release and move onto the next one.
the buttons just clip in, be careful not to lose any parts when u pull it out. the contacts in the bottom of the switch will probably be dirty and just need a clean up, use metho and cotton bud. give them a smear of grease and reassemble and test. |
