This is probably a stupid question ...but who gives a f**k. :D

Will an EL Futura instrument cluster (Tacho, Speedo, plus 4 gauges) fit & work quite happily in an EL XR6?

Just making sure...cheers guys.

Thanks mate,

I don't really see why not either.

I actually prefer the Futura Tacho & Speedo gauges to the XR6 ...more divisions / increments & more visible at night.

Should work but the Futura does not have the oil pressure and Battery volts gauge where I am sure the XR6 does. If this is the case you will need to replace the oil pressure sender with a oil pressure switch. All else will be the same but better ways to achieve you goal is to either swap over the backgrounds between clusters or purchase a Fairmont one. If you go the fairmont way then the cluster needs a resistor installed for the backlight on the LCD to work.

Futura doesnt even show the battery and oil gagues. Theya re hidden by the black backing.

It should be just plug and play.

It's actually from an EL Fairmont!

So what's this resistor I have to install for the LCD to work?

I would've thought this would be just plug & play?

It's OK, I've just checked the docco for this one.

Looks easy enough!

Fairmont into GLi/Futura/XR = need to add reisstor.
Fairlane into Fairmont/Gli/Futura/XR = rewiring.
