It has been done, and it looks terrible (Sorry Huggie)

They do not match at all and will look very unfinished. The centre console also requires the correct carpet, white plastic under carpet mold and the black floor plastic.

Do it all and do it right, or not at all. That is my advice.

However as this is your car, do whatever you want, as long as you are happy.

If you were going to keep the ED dash, this would be the way to go:

I just checked out that thread, and ringa did a great job, that would be ideal for any boxcar owner wanting to retain the EA/B/D dash.

Andrew.

Yes the AU console looks a lot better, BUT, is no good if you have pwr windows. There is no facility for the Switches in the AU console as the controls are on the door in the AU. Not impossible to correct, but something to be aware of.

aggreed is a real nice mod but can be a PITA if you do have power windows.

i myself did a dodge on my switches and trimed the panel down to suit the cup holder shape and supa glued in for now seems to do the job just fine but looking into other options as we speak.

some have either done the switches to the side of the console or some have put them into the arm rests on the front doors(one option i have done so far) the other is to mount a AU armrest in the trim and hook switches up that way.

Keepin the bromance alive...

On another note, i have seen the au fitted console, it does look ok, but as said, it is FTL if you have P/W.

I'd go with what ringa did, that looks phat.
