You'll find being nearly 10 year old (or more) switches - the rocker arms and fixed contacts will have a lot of arcing been happening, particularly on the up circuits and on the front windows (used more often). You then get a lot of soot buildup, and you'll find it needs cleaning more often.
As mentioned, relays are the best fix - you'll find wiring them up bit of a brain teaser. Hint: 1 x DPDT + 1 x SPST relays are needed for each window - you'll probably just need for the fronts.

Whats the diff between a DPDT and SPST relays vs a normal garden variety one? How are the pins wired? (I SHOULD know that )
