hello, im aware that the el ecu plugs straight into a ed wiring harness but will a ed ecu plug into a el harness.

the reason im asking is that i want to get a eb/ed sedan bomb and do up and put ed fairmont specs in it and i want to fully rebuild the entire wiring harness. if i put a el entire harness in a ed and fully rebuild it and shift a few wires to the right positions to still keep the original log manifolds can i plug a ed ecu in to keep the original ed trip computer.

of course to make it possible id have to change the smartlock module plug to suit a ed module and leave the airbags wiring out. can anyone help me.

thanks

im not sure what the ratings of each fusible link in a ed engine bay are and because i might rebuild the entire harness i thought it might be easier to put a el harness in the ed and adapt it to run the ed electrics/manifolds and ecu to run the ed trip computer as the el wiring diagram says the ratings of each link and the ed one just has fusible links without the ratings

i want to rebuild the ed harness and i want to know the fusible link ratings for each fusible link so i can have the right fuses in the engine bay fusible link so i can rebuild the ed harness.

other than that will a ed ecu plug straight into the el harness if i modified the harness to run the original ed electrics and manifolds.

but i need to know the fusible link ratings for the ed fusible links in the engine bay

seems to me mate that you will be making for work for yourself then needed... people are putting el ecus etc on au motors in early fords and when changing to bbm so i can only assume yes... but to do this right you would need a gregory's for an ED and for an EL..... to get the colours right the amperage etc etc *insert electrical s**t here......

but yeah it should work but imo i would just get an ed harness has not much different unles you are wanting to install and EL interior in and want to get all the interior wiring right
