I've finally put my EF Ex chaser cluster in...
despite the 800,000km's on the clock, i'm pleased with it (chucked new LED's back in it too)

but one thing i noticed, the Docco on these clusters says they have +-10% speedo correction.

apon installing mine i noticed it went beyond the 10% either way, which is good as i need a tad more to overcome the 3.08 -> 3.45 diff change.

is the docco correct? does the adjustments *after* 10% do nothing?

More than likely the doco is incorrect.
The stupid c**t who wrote them tends not to know his @$$ from his head.

I think I played around with one, and wasnt sure just how far you could go, and I assumed that is was only single percent values (like +9.9 and -9.9%) Hence I stuck 10% in the doco....

you should be able to just swap over the EEPROM chip that holds your odo reading

How many Ks did you have originally ???
I have a couple of Base cluster lying around, and I might have an EEPROM with a close reading.
(If I have one, ill send it down to ya)
The clusters are only taking up space. Someone may as well get some use out of em !

is it illegal to have a HIGHER odo reading? :P
my car has about 180,000km's on it.
it had a 150,000km fairmont cluster in it for a while.
but figured i'd use the chaser one so i could get my odo backlighting back.

it seems the actual removing of the eeprom from the back of the cluster is my problem.
i keep breaking them.

Take the clusters into a TV repair place, they should not charge you any more than $20 to change the chips over, if they try then go elsewhere. You cant do this yourself unless you have specialised SMD de-soldering equipment without risking damage to the circuit boards.
Cheers
TW.

was it only the ex-chasers that had the speedo calibration feature? I have a standard cluster in my EF Futura and appear to have a calibration feature (or something similar). On the top line it displays 'speedo' and on the bottom line displays a number between +/- 16, which can be changed in increments of 0.5. Is this speedo calibration or something else?[/list]
