But worse still... now my climate control screen has s**t itself and now i have no display at all... does this sound familiar?? Please help, i'm drowning here!!! E2 not always mean "blend door motor" failure, you can try to replace control module. I have positive result in similar cases in the past. You can see what’s going on at display with external light (for testing purposes). link on ebay or use local wreckers.

Need help on this,
Have a ED. I have no fault codes that show but the air is always 50-50 cold /hot, if I let the car idle for 20mins in the drive way with heat on 32 and fan speed on 1 the interior gets very warm and how it should be but if I start the car and go driving for 20 mins its still cold Have read the docco but cannot get the Monitor mode to work. When I press Face/Floor and RECIRC and then AUTO then let go of RECIRC and Face/ Floor then AUTO the thing just works as if I turned it on. Ive tried it over and over but cant get it to show the codes from 1-H. The only thing that wont work is the floor vent properly -it wont fully open and still gets the screen a bit so I have forced it open with a clamp and now I get full air flow to the floor (downside is a get a weak flow to the screen now) but the heat has always been 50-50 hot cold. How would I give my blend door motor 12volts to see if it would budge and change? I cannot find the pinouts in the docco http://fordmods.com/documents.php?d=9 Took me ages to get the Air Con to get freezing cold and now this is just ridiculous to have to rip out the dash and gamble if it gets fixed or not.

thanx guys, will check that globe on the cc screen tomorrow. Now, how do I check the control module (if that is the problem) hopefully instead of replacing the blend door motor?

Hi- no probs, will do. Does the control module reside in the engine bay, or.. under the dash somewhere? And lastly, what does it look like? Thanx so much for help thus far.

On page 1 I gave you direct a link to this unit (on e-bay), where you can buy it. It’s expensive there (and was only for example), have a look at forums in for sale section. I definitely saw this unit for sale today (here or on boosted falcons). Otherwise search e-bay or local wreckers.
You need to obtain workshop manual for this car- it will help you a lot. If you need some pictures from workshop manual -let me know.

where are the pinouts for giving power to the blend door?
To enter Monitor Mode (EA/EB/ED Fairlane/LTD models) •Turn the Ignition switch to the "On" Position -does this mean reds? •Press the “Recirculateâ€, “Face/Floorâ€, and “AUTO†Buttons together •Release the “Recirculateâ€, “Face/Floorâ€, Buttons together and the “AUTO†Button Last. Have done all the above but it wont work.
