Hey I have a EB II Fairmont, Its an early Series two without smartlock etc. Anyway it has the feature which dims the interior lights for you, what I would like to do is actually shut it off so that if the doors are closed it just goes straight off. The wiring diagram from the manual isn't very help full it just show the wiring going to a "controller" with no further info. Does anyone have an idea how I might achieve this ?

Well I want to hook in the +12 as a trigger on my alarm so that if someone opens the door or even just lifts the door handle the lights will come on setting off the alarm. Now all this works well but when leaving the car if the lights are on fade I cannot arm the alarm till they go off cause it thinks the door is open.

A mate of mine had an alarm with this feature... used to drive up near it wind the window down and then pulled the handle... funny stuff.. BUT seriously a decent feature as the alarm goes off when the car is locked.

I have this feature on my car and it dosent effect the alarm. Most alarms usually have a delay before they completely arm.

Put diodes on the door switches, and run a seperate wire to the alarm. You get to keep the delay that way
