Hi All,
I just bought an AUII Fairmont and I really love the car. Really. It came with a dodgy "Message Display Center" though (faded LCD - not the globes). I considered replacing the MDC, but Ford (South Africa) practically require my first born as a down payment on a replacement MDC cluster. I considered having it repaired and I managed to get a used AUI (orange LCD) MDC unit from a local car breaker to have "something in the dash" while I sent the original part in for repairs at {DESCRIPTION} who can repair the unit by replacing the ACF (Anosotrophic Conductive Film). When I got the AUI part in my hands I started wondering though... Does anyone here have the pinouts for the Message Display Center connectors? I am fairly proficient with electronics and with a little luck this may be the first step towards building a completely custom MDC. Has anyone tried this before? Thanks! |

Very interested in this, i dont know the pin outs sorry but can tell you the lcd is one big screen with a giant ribbon cable glued to the top. i pulled mine apart and tried to fix it but its still pretty much the same...
