spare is staying - i want something a little different, but practical. even if its split so i can access the spare on one half, and the tools on the rest?

tools you carry around... is this for work?
or just for handy s**t around the car? if its just for the car... give the floor like a 2 inch lift.. with some wood they use on house frames get some.. i dont know what its called, they use it under carpet, some of that wood... and carpet it edit: also a** hinges some where, so you can have access to tools + spare

haha not for work - accountants don't use too many hand tools
its jumper leads, socket set, screwdriver set, and other assorted hand tools etc. so nothing too major, but will need a few inches of height to clear them all - perhaps hinge them off the raise at the rear of the boot?

maybe have a floor running from the step in the boot back. 12mm mdf should do fine. can mount rear on a hinge so its easier to open...

if you want it to hinge and fold up then I would suggest making it double hinged and fold in the middle as well so you can have it go right back with plenty of room to get your tyre etc out...

dude,
just run some wood along the bottom of boot (like oldmate said, like shi7 you build houses with), and then get some mdf or somethin like that and slap in ontop... *finding a pic... This was mine halfway through the buildup stage, sorry got no other pics, but you can see wat everyone means, i hope, raise the floor a lil bit which gives you room underneath to chuck everything in, and wat ive done on the right, which you cant see, is put a side wall in, which the amp now sits behind, maybe you could put some shiz behind there or something? only took 2 days to do, including the "build as you go" sub box... cheers hope it helps, Rayos

Apart from making the floor flat I think its a great idea, what about the boot carpet, nice think felt like stuff in one piece where do you get that from and at what cost.

Yep but if your a bit crafty you could make it fold down a bit and then runs down the bottom (under the false floor) so if you have anything else in the boot it wont get in the wasy..... Hope that made sense... |
