hey guys, my fan only works at high, when i switch it down to like say 8 only a tiny little bit of air comes through..
i have done a diagnostics thing with the CC and everything comes up fine? what could be it? what do i need to fix it? and lead me to a doco on how to do it myself please

dont know too much about the climate control setups, but i'd hazard a guess that the fan speed controller is f**k

if it's only high speed working fine, i'd say the fan isnt at fault.....
in the lower spec falcons, the normal cause of the lower speeds dying is the fan speed control resistor block, high speed bypasses the resistors, which is why it works fine, i'm not too sure of what type of fan speed controller is in the climate control equipped fairmonts and up, but i would guess that it's a similar resistor block, and it's f**k

The fan speed controller is located on the evaporator case behind the glovebox door the function of the controller is to convert low voltage signals from the electronic controller to high current, variable voltage to the fan motor. Blower motor speed is infinitely variable and is controlled by the electroniccontrol unit software.A delay function provides a gradual increase or decrease in fan speed under all conditions.

Such a post whore Rod.. I told you on IRC what it is
Fan Speed Controller, silver box behind the glovebox, take off the glovebox, pull it out, get a new one, push it in, put glovebox back on, and you have alternate-speed goodness ! 
Ford don't make them anymore so don't go there asking.. plus I think the guy told me they were about $200 there anyways when they did make them. Wrecker will ask about $35-$45, so all good.
