2nd time lucky (lost my thread cause battery went flat).
When i got the car the fan didnt work on 1 or 2. Now it only works on boost. So i did a search and found Hyena's thread where he had the same issue. Here is the threa Hyena's Fan Thread. I went and pulled it out and it looks like this. All three coils seem to be ok. They arnt broken. But is this the Fan Speed Resistor? 1 - Is there anything i should do before i go get a replacement resistor? 2 - Would the resistor cause this? 3 - Could i put a bit of wire across 2 of the poles and see if 1, 2, or 3 acts as boost? I also pulled out a few pine needles and leaves. Its damn discusting in there.

That is the control resistor alright, if the coils are intact then chances are its OK. Most likely cause is the switch is faulty.

You can measure the coils and see if they are electrically ok. Maybe the plug connectors are a bit dirty, not seated properly.

Funny you say that eh...... I pulled the switch apart and cleaned it and re-assembled it and then tested with a multi-meter and it was all good. Might have a look at the connections. Its damn annoying only having boost.

If you are handy with the multimeter then as Ray said meter the coils and wiring. If it still does not work then a long shot may be the motor bearings are shot and it requires max power to start it and keep it turning.

Motor bearing would explain alot :S

Also check for items jammed in motor like pieces of paper or leaves
