Anyone able to comment on this ebay 'promise'?
Does that sound realistic? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-FLIP-Key-Su ... 4839d909be

A flip out key is a had...
Just another thing to wear out... You've got a steel key in a plastic body... flicking it in and out they'd have to wear and become dodgy and loose... Esp what 5 times or more a day in and out? A normal key does the same job... you remove it from the ignition, put it in your pocket, and no one knows any different your BA or BF has a flip key... I really miss the major interest in these...

Actually, since I rarely carry any other keys on my key ring and I generally carry them in the same pocket as my i-phone, I can totally see the point in having a $165 key which keeps a sharp metal edge away from a valuable phone, which if broken would be a total pain the butt.
If you can't see the point in it, that's up to you!! As for them wearing out, I really can't see them wearing out too soon. European makes have been using them for years and I don't hear too many of those owners complaining about broken or sloppy keys.

Your button unlocks your house too? this I'd have...
For this reason (most people have house keys, work keys etc) my phone lives in a different pocket to my keys... Due to past accidents... not just keys that scratch phones either... I suppose it does have a benefit there... But like said, surely most other people carry more keys for other locks that they don't make flip out keys for? Like I said to me a key is a key, I personally hate the idea (plus I'm the sort of person who wears things out quick... as I get bored and continually flick them in and out... Maybe I personally am the reason for this ) All in all though each to their own... Like one said not cheap... but then, what Ford remotes are? Even E series series are 60 bucks on ebay...

haha... don't tell me the Australian Holden has parts made in China... Holden owners would be devastated...
Some commodore owners think that the commodore is gods gift to mankind and esp Australia... Ask a lot of them and they refuse to believe some parts are foreign made... Had some interesting conversations about this in my short time...
