G'day fellow Fm'ers

As far as i can tell no one has actually changed over the ICC in an FG XR from low; monochrome, single zone to high; colour dual zone premo screen.

I rang ASL and even they couldn't help a lot.

Anyway... I bought a high series colour screen ICC and swapped out the old monochrome single zone ICC that came with my FG XR.

WOOHOO all works as a single zone unit. Its a straight swap over, just Ford has to recode the radio.

the ONLY issue is that now the Bluetooth doesn't activate when i try to pair a phone. Is this due to the Bluetooth module that came with my car being different or am i missing something?

I go to pair a new phone and there is just a blank screen.

Any help would be great....

papa smurf..care to venture this one :)

does your new one have dual climate control? was that a straight swap in or does it require extra mods too?

The new one i bought is dual zone and was a straight swap over with no mods needed. The dual zone ICC only works as a single zone which is fine as thats what the XR's are anyway.

The only thing is the bluetooth doesnt work.

is it possible to just replace the screen and fascia, and keep all the rest of the icc the same as what you had before? would that get the blue tooth working?

I think and I could be wrong, that with the FG Blue Tooth module it needs to be activated by Ford, and because It's tied in with the ICC (I think) (and you have swapped it over) the Blue Tooth module will most likely need to be re-activated.

kwaussiekid.

BA was straight swap over and everything worked perfectly. just had to get the radio recoded at ford.

phatba...i like your thinking, it maybe a little complex but def worth a try. ill put forward the suggestion to ASL and see what comes about.

cheers

Ok so I have a "09 FG XT. I want to upgrade the icc in it...

So a few questions...
What are the levels of icc's? And their differences?
Have you solved the Bluetooth issue?

And ultimately, the ideal would be to upgrade to the built in gps icc (f6 and gt, I believe?), possible? I realise I will need the extra gps gear... But possible or not?

I read somewhere that the icc in the fg xr6II has the gps built in but needs to be ford activated :?

Hmm thanks tyler06... I guess that's another question... Can you switch fgI to fgII and vice versa?

Also any other answers to my questions above?
