Hello everyone,
Just new to this website and need some advice from some people. Recently I purchased an fg xr6, and on the front passenger side is a small silver like strip right above the glovebox. This strip has partially faded or it has worn away and there is a small but noticing strip of black starting to show through. The car I bought second hand so not sure how it's happened however im wondering if a can of spray will just fix it or should I replace it with a new part. Also if anyone can link me a video on YouTube or a document on how to remove this part or any ideas on how to remove this silver strip would be a bonus.

Is the car still under NCW?

If so, it might be worth seeing if Ford will replace it for you.

Otherwise, rather than painting them, I'd be replacing it with a new one. Anything else will likely just look like shyte!

Being an FG, it will still be under warantee unless it's done too many K's

Yea if its under ncw it probably would be fixed for nothin my mates ve commodore has had alot of random things replaced under warranty

Yes the car is still under new car warranty for about 8months I think, but I thought the new car warranty was to do with just mechanical problems with the car, guess it won't hurt to try!

Im in the middle of doing all the silver in my XR8 FG ute in the car colour, I'll post when refitted.
