Just curious hard to explain.

on back of std face's they have like different shade filters.
I take it it is to make the lighting the same all over as where bulb is furtherest it is a light filter compaired to the closest it has a darker filter to even out the lighting.

With the navara blue leds I have found areas to be brighter than others(especially dull top gauges)
I have filed tops flat to try to spread light better but only made a little difference.

looking to find leds that spread better.

when you do the new dials do you do any of the filters on the back?
If you don't how are those blue leds spreading the light on your new dials.

Should post some pics soon ....had some issues with the transparency layer allowing to much light through....so makes the readings sorta hard to see at night....will change it all little more see how that goes and post soon

That someone should be bigkev since it is his design, but I want that dash mod in both my EFs, whether the designs are made free to members by bigkev, or whether bigkev wants to sell them, I'm in for two!

I'm also thinking it might look good if the black plastic is painted in a gold.... like the effect that Hyena had got with his, but I don't think the silver would go with thte blue/white. Gold would though.

I'd advise against using blue leds with these sort of dashes - white ones come up much better, and if you can do some simple soldering I found 8mm white ones are the best. They're still not 100% but they give a better spread of light, and the sanded 14,000mcd 8mm whites I used in mine came up a treat.

I tried all sorts of LEDs, blue, white, 8mm, 5mm and even 80,000mcd 10mm whites - but they were too highly focused for use in the dash (they created a 6" spot from over 2 feet away!)

Iam just going to add 2 extra blue leds for the dials which should balance out the lighting.

As for the clock and odometer I will try to make reflector surface more reflective or try to find a better filter medium that will spread the light better.

Iam not giving up on the blue as it looks so good.

Will find out if a real neon will work on 12v curcuit as jaycar have one (90v ne2 neon).

No spec on size.

Spike voltage 82v.

To run it on 240v they say to use 270k resistor in series.

These are only 45 cents each.
