Just joined, and going to be doing some projects on the Ute, and one that I was looking at was putting in a Trip Computer from say EF / EL Models ? Is this possible, or is there another model I can use ? Hope I can get some ideas.

XH = EF/EL? if so then yes - you need to add a dat wire from the plug behind the trip computer to the dash so it can read the fuel consumption, etc... there is a doco in the mods section which will give you all you need to run it!

I too have been thinking about doing this, but have been unable to find a trip computer, I've checked all the local wreckers, there's either none, or they won't break up a complete dash... :(

I guess Ford will sell 'em, but how much (mucho expensive no doubt).

you'll need to add all the wires that tun to the trip computer which will be a big job (even if the computer has the provisions for it, the loom wont)

bigger question is where are you gonna mount it?

Yes, that is going to be the problem, been looking at where I can mount it, but that maybe alot harder to do, than wire the Trip Computer :(

Best option would be to attempt to drop in a EF-L interior. Would require a heap of mods though, probably not worth it!

Try Ferntree Gully Auto Salvage who is a sponsor of this website.

PM xr8 dismantler & see if he has a trip comp to suit a EF-EL Falcon, And make shure that you also get the plug as well so you can wire the thing in your car.

I found a trip computer for $50 for my EB II through him & he ships anyware in Aust for $10, I also got a set of clear XR type front indicators for my car as well. (@ $35 a set for fordmods.com members)
