I am in the process of trying to fit a trip computer from an EB Series 2 Fairmont into an ED XR6 I am most of the way there atm from what I can tell the range function works and the average KPH work. But I cant get the Instant or average Litres per 100 to display properly at idle it displays 1.0 instead of 99.9 and when driving I cant get it to move off that. I am trying to work off both a max ellery and a gregorys manual but they're not all that helpful.

any suggestions?

Doesn't it use the injector pulse from the ecu to work out the L/100 & instant economy? Where are you getting the signal from?

Cheers

I believe it displaying 1 might be its way of saying no signal at all. Do you know what colour wire I should be looking for to make that connection to the ECU to see the injector response?

Thanks

I can't say that I do, but I think there was a tech doc on there that had a step by step with that info in it?

My Eb2 Ghia & Eb 1 Xr8 both have trip computers, and the EB2 Xr8 will be plug & play as I'm fitting a high series dash loom & climate control to it anyway...

Cheers

To fix error with trip computer using EL computer (EEC V), you need to cut the wire on pin 34 on the ecu and splice the loom end (wire from trip comp) into pin 58 pwm injector pulse...this will fix the trip comp.

Took that from my notes for the BBM conversion. Im not sure if it is the same for EEC IV.
Looking in my manual for EA ED the wire from the ECU to the trip computer is GRN/YEL.
