1. Don't, neons are gay
2. If you must... a. If you've got premium sound or climate control, there'll be footwell light bulb sockets already, they may be hidden out of the way. b. If not, you'll have to get the dome light wiring, look for the Black-Blue Stripe and Green-Yellow stripe wires. You can find these, at the BEM (behind the ICC), or behind the drivers side kick panel.

they can be changed but its not easy, theres a guy that does it (the cluster and i think the ICC) called AUmatt, PM him, another option is to buy an ICC and instrument cluster from an XR6/8 and put them in, the gearbox light is a little wedge globe you can switch to a blue led one

cheers mate. What size globes does the gearbox take? I assume you take the cover off then a few screws?

i THINK its one of those small little 5W wedge globes, like in your map lights, reach to the front of the shifter cover, you should be able to lift the front and it will all lift off, although takes a bit of pressure, i havent changed the globe yet, still gotta get around to doing it

I ve got blue neons in the front and back - with the wires tucked nicely away under the console and between the seats which leeds to a switch which is plugged into the cigarette light plug, I actually got the ones which pluse the beat of the music if i wanted although i dont use this so that controller box just sits in my centre console bit - i will take some pics tonight of it all and how its wired.
Well here are the pics - sorry the quality aint that great it was from my phone

hey guys, i was just wondering whether it is easy enough to connect the neons to the dome light circuit rather than the lighter plug?

If you've got a high series dash loom, you'll already have light sockets available under the dash on the driver and passenger side footwells. So yeah easy.
If not, you'd have to grab the wires from the kick panel (I forget which side).

If so you'd have the light bulb sockets already.
