All i have too say to ford engineers is grab a pineapple and get a*** reemed, dumb a*** mother f%ckers.
Plastic clip broke on the back power window regulator so the window fell down then my cousin decided to switch the up button which jammed the motor. So i stuck a piece of wood up there to hold the window up and too stop theives. Can't be bothered fixing it, $200 would be better spent on 2 tanks of gas. cheers.......... |

Same thing happened to me when I went camping - damn window clip broke in the same spot, all I had was a coat hangar, had to wire it up instead. Gotta be the easiest part of the car to break. Don't know why people still bother smashing windows.

Calm down - I am sure there is a link on this website that lets you know how to replace the plastic part, which snaps with a metal one, which in turn gets more life out of your power windows.
Alternatively, you could put in manual window winders.

Alternatively, you could put in manual window winders. the wire in the motor got bird nested, just like on a bait caster fishing reel when you cast the line out with not enough tension on the spool. so yeah i need a new motor and then fix the plastic clamp. |

lucky me i havnt had any real problems with my power windows yet..
well unfortunatly car manufactures make things this way to make sure people buy replacement parts.. and to make more money.. wouldnt it be good to have a car that never broke down!! anyway thats my thought for the night..... |

it takes a bit of time but sit there and adjust them if they go up real slow.
both mine almost stopped at half-way but now they're like new. and yeh it helps to keep the tracks lubed with graphite.

To all our cars with power windows I use a can of spray Silicon with the supplied plastic noozel extention and spray along the side window tracks with the result the windows slip up and down easy putting less force on window motor, hidden plastic clips etc . Bunnings have a can for about $7 or auto parts for about $15.

talking bout cars made bad so u have to buy the parts. SOme chick i know just got a 1992 Merc 230E and poped a welsh plug. Cant buy one u need a whole set and u can only use genuine merc ones. Also she hit a medium strip and burst 2 tyres. Normal tyres wont fit (said 4 tyre places) you need genuine merc tyres. Like WTF!!!
i was gonna do the power window conversion but am really put off.

Someone should really try and modify some electric window motors from the one of the Japanese or German car makers and fit it to the Fords that have these problems with power windows.
