now have 4 newish silver dash spears (xr ones)
rear power windows now wired up properly and working from the 4 way switch

progress might slow down as im moving out with a mate in 2 weeks so ill probably become pretty tight lol...
cluster, ICC, Gear Stick and seats are still on the list...

ICC
i have found this product that im going to wire up to a cheap ebay touch screen in the factory location... its rrp is only $399aus

its pretty much the ipod user interface that in the $1500 dvd players with remote... which will work perfectly with my current alpine head unit (just as a receiver) i love my current headunit and dont want to lose its feature or the solid volume knob if i brought a all in one touch screen unit... so i hope this things as good as i read it is...

its in these brochures... just search KCE-425i

What model headunit do you have?

I have an IVA-D310 and have been looking at the same thing.
If all you want is audio, get the KCA-420i as it will be much cheaper.

hey frank im after it for the visual touch screen side of things... something to fill in the screen whole
my headunit is a CDA-9887 i think... dot matrix screen 2 preouts, BBE Full speed ipod, No DVD or Bluetooth tho...

Todays Efforts...

- BA Passenger Airbag Wired up and Working, i just connected the AU loom to one side of the BA airbag and the airbag light on the cluster works normally (turns on for about 5 seconds when cars turned on then turns off)
- Fog Lights Conected to Foglight Switch
- Heater Control Wiring Looms ran a different way behind the dash so they actually reach the fan controls... still havent got the heater cable in... its a prick...

i have my AU momo steering wheel up for sale to fund my BA steering Column... looking at this steering wheel

i have got the cluster and had a bit oof a look at it but iv moved house and started a new job so not alot of spare time atm...

there are 2 conections that go into the AU cluster from what i can tell
1 - contains rpm, fuel, etc and odometer information
2 - backlight, seatbelt light, engine warning lights etc information

without a cluster the car starts and functions normally which i thought was pretty strange

with only conection1 plugged in to the AU cluster the RPM, Fuel Gauge, Odo all work

Connection 1 is exactly the same plug on the AU and BA Cluster but Connection 2 is different

But connecting Connection 1 to the BA Cluster doesnt do anything :( im thinking that the second plug on the BA cluster might have a power source?

Connection 2 on the AU cluster has about 18 pins
Connection 2 on the BA cluster has about 14 pins

Cheers Cam

Nice conversion - well done

1 question - is the BA and AU firewalls the same?
i ask this as i'm looking at doing this to project car and if same i'm just going to change everything and run the whole BA loom and all in it
