Hi Guys, i've done the search thing, but can't find any solid info on installing a FPV Gauge Pod into a BA XR8.
i did see that someone said that the wiring might already be there, but there was no comformation, Is this true?
Has anyone got a pic of the wiring schematic??
or any other info (pics would be great!!) on this install?

thanks.

The wiring is NOT there for the pod gauges.
You can buy a harness for the guages but I can't
say if it will fit directly into plugs on the dash harness.

I don't have access to a schematic of the wiring unfortunately.

Part number for the harness is BA2T 9A282 A $76.20 from a Ford dealer.

I have seen Fern Tree Gully sell the complete wiring loom for the FPV gauges, and if I remember correctly they supply instructions too?

Might be worth giving them a call.

I will ask to my friend about installing a FPV Gauge Pod into a BA XRB. He know how to do it. Then I will tell it to you. :D

As you've already discovered the gauge pod was FPV only, and even then BA2-BF2 only.

The loom is an entire new loom from the engine bay all the way through to the dash.

Unless you're installing the genuine FPV gauges as well, you may as well wire after market gauges up yourself.

Heck I've got the loom, and have run my own wiring for after market gauges, as the FPV loom is pretty bare in what it provides (i.e. no permanent power)

Thanks for that info!

i've got the original gauges, might go the aftermarket option.

wouldn't the originals just wire up the same as aftermarket though?

Not always, the factory gauges are pretty dumb, they just get [ignition] power, sensor, and illumination.

Depending on how much smarts an after market gauge has, it'll need other things. e.g. for mine, because they have alarm thresholds, they need constant power so the don't forget it each time you turn off the car.

When wiring the lights in the gauge pod, do they get hooked up to pin #19 (Negative Illumination Dimming 25W) for negative, and pin #10 (Park Light On) for positive, or have i got it totally wrong??

and where does the oil temp sender get mounted?
