Anyone know the resistance of the standard EF fuel gauge?
I'm changing to straight LPG in the next few days and want to know the specs so I can make up a circuit (or just add a resistor) to the LPG tank gauge. LPG tank is 0-90 Ohm. Petrol is........... cheers Scott

EF/EL petrol sender is 10 - 176 ohms. The correct LPG sender you're looking for is 2 - 176 ohms.
I assume you're running the 3 scuba tank setup ?? The setup I'm running in my wagon isn't greatly accurate, due to the sender sitting in one of the tanks.

Nope I have a single 65l which is going under the floor, with a new false floor replacing the petrol tank. When money permits I will add a second 65l tank to have a total of 130l lpg.
Hmmm I don't like it being 10-176. I'll think of something....

Well whoever's supplying your tanks should be able to get you the compatible senders ??
A bit of planning into the circuit setup for the tank sender/lock offs for switching tanks - also integrating this into the safety cutout - not too difficult though. An LPG variation of the XH outback ute setup.

I'll just use an op amp circuit to double the resistance with a 10 Ohm leadup. Should get 10-180 Ohms depending on the resistors I use, which is just about perfect. If I had the two tanks already I can just use a 10 ohm leadup with the one tank sender in parallel with a 1000 Ohm resistor followed by the other tank sender in parallel with a 1000 Ohm resistor. That gives 10-176 almost exactly.
