just wondered

what normally causes fuel gauges in a ed 6 cyl to go to full then straight back to empty everytime the igns are turned on when just unplugging the sender plug without touching the 2 pins together or earthing it.

whats normally the reasons for the fuel gauges still going to full then empty everytime the igns on with new wires when you unplug the sensor without doing anything to the plug but plugging it back in doesnt do it
