Trying to install genuine steel pedals (auto) on a BA XR8.

Removed stock rubber pedals and there is no hole for the (brake pedal) torx bit attachment,
on the brake plate stalk.

Did any xr6/8 come from factory with pre (brake) drilled hole?

Would it be safe to drill hole for attachment?
