My cruise control has packed it in. I think the problem must be the control unit mounted on the steering wheel. Any idea how to remove it without causing further damage. I'm betting that a switch in the thing has gone and died so i might be able to fix it rather then buy the whole thing.

have you checked fuses?
to access the steering controls you need to take of the airbag DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST LEAVE IT FOR !) MINS WITH HEADLIGHTS ON you will need a t25(correct me if im wrong) to undo the the bolts once that is off disconnect the wires and yeah your done but i doubt that will be the problem. |

Do you know what circuit is the CC on?
I thought that disconnecting the battery stuffed the car's computer or at least the tune it is running. As far as I know my car is only running the factory tune so will the computer default to this once the battery is reconnected? |

Disconnecting the battery will not effect the cars ECU.
